As you mentioned you have also tried regedit. Did you try to change RegisteredOwner and RegisteredOrganization keys in following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

How do I change my USER NAME in windows 7? Im using Windows 7 Home Premium in my DELL Laptop. I have sucessfully changed it in "Control Panel > User Accounts". I also changed it in "My Computer (right click ) > Change Settings" and changed the Computer Name, Full Computer Name and Computer description. After this step right clicking in "My Computer" shows my desired user name but using "System Information for Windows > Operating System" it still shows my old User Name ie DELL. Another example of the User Name not being changed is on running games like EA Hot Pursuit it shows my user name as DELL. I have already tried changing in "regedit" too. Anyone?

yaay!! Thats it. Thank you!
Hi
The name that you changed has only changed the display name. When the operating system was installed on the computer, it was registered under the name “Dell” and this name has been registered and internally it is not possible change the name everywhere.
The name can be changed only if the data is completely wiped off the computer.
