if by html documents you mean web pages, then you can install a pdf print driver in xp and print those documents as pdf's.   you can bing for free pdf printers.

if you have microsoft office word installed, then you likely have two additional methods already installed.

under the file menu option in your i.e. browser, you should be able to select "edit with word" or select print preview, then print the webpage to the microsoft xps document printer.

OK, I believe that I installed the PDF printer, but now what are the steps that I can use to convert the HTML web page(s) to a PDF?

if the pdf print driver is installed, then it will be seen by windows as a printer.  it should show up inside your printers control panel.

you will also be able to open any program, like the browser, select print and then select your new pdf printer from the list of printers.

once you send the print job to the pdf printer,  you will be prompted to give your new file a name and maybe choose a location to save it to.

so be sure that whatever name you choose, add .pdf (dot pdf) after it.

then open that pdf document / file with the acrobat or foxit pdf readers.

lastly, you can choose to make a physical copy of the pdf document by printing it to your inkjet or laser printer.

incidentally, printing to pdf is handy because you won't waste paper and toner or ink.

further you can always re-print the html document with different settings and overwriting the old pdf file.

There is 2 problem. One, you can't open HTML .2 You can't save it in pdf format.

For the first problem, you can open the HTML formats using browsers if the file don't contain php or Java. You can upload it in Google and view that. But about saving it, please install "doPDF' software. When you installed this ware, use CTRL+P to print that HTML file. In print windows select doPDF and press Enter. By this you can save it in PDF ext. Please send me your eMail that i Mail you this program completely.

if i misinterpreted the original question and the issue was to view and save the html code for a webpage,

then there is an option in ie to display the html by going to the file menu > view > source

depending on which version of ie, the read out can then be printed

or blocked / highlighted with the mouse,  then copied and pasted into any editor for analysis and saving, like in notepad or wordpad or word.

the code can also be pasted into a html editor as well, like frontpage.
