    Hi There,

I am suspecting that its a Dell computer.

Quickset is an application from Dell which comes pre-installed with the computer. This application has system utilities like power management, diagnostics & settings etc.

To disable it you can use the System Configuration utility : http://www.ehow.com/how\_7346925\_disable-support-center-quick-set.html

Disclaimer: Disabling Quickset might result in losing certain functionality of the system like volume up and down, display brightness etc.

Let me know if this helps.

If you don't want to get rid of it, but don't want to see it either, you can hide it so that it only shows when you click the arrow. To do this, click the arrow and click 'Customize...'. Go down and find the icon, and set its value to 'Hide icon and notifications' or 'Only show notifications' (whichever you prefer).

doing the 'hide icon' doesn't work for some icons on dell computers for some reason. I have the 'hide icons and notifications' selected for the quickset  icon and yet it still shows right along with the Action Center which I also have selected as such.
