Why is it that the sound on my desktop works fine, my standard account sound works fine (online/desktop), BUT the crazy part is my account ONLINE sound doesn't work on ANYTHING. I've checked the basic sound box to make sure nothing was muted. If disabled and enabled the speaker system. I've reconfigured the speakers. Made sure nothing was plugged in. Tested the speakers (and they made sound crystal clean on the test). Went throung to see if Hp saw anything wrong with the speakers elec and hardware wise. Updated the speakers through HP (it didn't need it according to the comp and HP). Yeah, I pretty much out of ideas of what it could be. I have a compaq presario cq61 and windows 7 home it that helps.

    Hello and thanks for your response;

    I forgot to mention I’ve already went into the internet options menu and checked there. Everything is as it should be. And I don’t think it’s a virus issue, because I had scanned the system from that morning an the next morning everything was clean.

    To answer your questions:

    • Nothing happens when I play ANY form of audio online.
    • Well it was working fine the night before all the way till I went to sleep(computer was shut down). Then the next morning (10 hours later) I was playing something and saw that there was no sound.
    • There's no error message and HP, the device manager, IE options, etc. says everything is fine and it tests fine.
    • I’m using the internet explorer version 9
    • No, I don’t hear ANY form of sound online at all other than things from my desktop. (music, Test, Movies, games (non-online), Educational ROM's, etc.)

    I figure this is more or less a mechanical issue. SO I’m attempting to move all documents and apps over to a new admin account I’ve created (so far this idea works wonders). Hopefully everything will transition easily. But I will keep it open (as a standard) just for safe keeping. I just hope it wont over compact my hard drive with another account added.

    Thanks for all your help and let me know if you come up with ANYTHING that could help me bypass this one glitch.
