Original title: media center quit working correctly with netflix

Netflix will no longer recognize my password in Media center, it says that I am not connected to the internet. Netflix works fine with the internet explorer. Also when I try to setup the wireless connection in Media Center, it says my password is incorrect. When I check if the internet is always on, it says it is working fine. This problem exist also in my hardwired Desktop. Netflix worked fine until a couple days ago in Media Center. I contacted Netflix, they had not answer, and Microsoft wanted to charge me $59 for a problem I am sure they created to begin with. I am sure one the recent updates has caused this. I did try to restore point, but it did not help. In fact it will not allow me to restore to a previous time. Help

    Hi JeanLambert,

    1.     Have you made any recent changes on the computer?

    2.     When was the last time it was working fine?

Check if there is any problem with the internet connection in Windows media center.

I've seen that KB article referenced in 4 separate forum threads now and I still believe the problem is caused by an uncoordinated change between Netflix and Microsoft.

Everyone needs to click the "Me Too" button at the top so Microsoft will pay attention to the scope of the issue.

I am starting to lose confidence with Microsoft. I have been using there operating system for many years, all not always perfect. Vista has been one that I am really happy with. I have it installed on most of my 6 pc and I have not had to reinstall it, like XP or 98, every time with the blue screen. I am preparing to reinstall Vista on my Laptop, if this does not cure the problem; Microsoft will get some choice words from me, including selling my Stock.  Why invest in a Company that longer cares.

Same problem at about the same time ( March 8 - March 12, 2011 ). All my Vista computers do not recognize the "internet connection" within the Media Center.....however, my Windows 7 netflix works just fine. Maybe an effort from Microsoft to push the 7 change! I'm actually making the change since all my media ( mutiple computers in the house) rely on the windows media center. = (

The only changes is the Microsoft updates. I have three PC with vista, and the problem exist on all three of them. My wifes has 7.0 in hers it still works. But I have not updated it yet. I am about to reinstall Vista in my Laptop and set up in the orginal setting, and see what happens. But I hoping some comes up with a fix before that. I have Norton 360 on this since I bought the Laptop 3 years ago, and it has been working fine, in fact it stop a bad trojan horse about 6 months ago. But then everything was still working. I did a sc/scannow, and it told me that there is a corrupt registry file, but I don't know how to access the Log to see what it was.

I am hoping one you wiz kids has an answer. Note also there is and Office update 2007 that won't install. I tried about 10 times now, but it always fails. But I don't think this the issue with the Netflix and media center. Because it worked then.
