Does Windows 7 have a Registry Scanner & Repairer?

original title: The only experiece with the Registry is basically...I know that I dont know enough where I should be messing with it solo...Does Windows 7 have a Registry Scanner & Repairer? I KNOW I would be better off with it.

I'm a REG newb....but I know for a fact...confirmed by more than me, and a Microsoft Approved (high level too) software pack.  Simply put...big, bad, juju. Wasn't too long I had the Task Manager up checking out what was what, what all was killing me, and trying to see what I could do about it. Its going crazy all over. So much so, I even popped up the Resource Manager up to see how many ways simultaneously I was being wrecked basically...and I dont gotta even go as far as using this very often. Simply put, I was about completely owned. except enough to pretty much see I was getting  it and had got it and could get more from all over...inside and outside...even had corrupted iexplore.exe's...multiple. I was standing in it and stuck to the point that there could have actually been an outsider ruling me who just happened to let me go cry to Microsoft and whoever else would listen. So they say try this software pack and I do. 1st steps a Registry Scan that spits out hundreds of problems...system errors (are those the most serious?) like chunks missinng not only out of Windows Explorer but numerous other vital programs...even the Help sectors for the missing programs...I'm no wiz at the registry but I thought that wasn't a good sign for a non-knower. sorry...long story long...but a lil shorter...the magic pack's outta my price range...wouldnt fix but like 10 things for free...and that wasnt enough to do the errors you basically make right then yourself...ANNNDDD...come to find out...the Reg thing is just the first part. my mom killed the power when I took too long upstairs but I can still see parts and pieces of Doomsday floating around even though the only thing I've done is pretty much...look for where to send this. Does Windows 7 have a registry scan and fixer...that I dont need to have mastered the Registry way back when they just called him "Lil R"? I figure I knock out the step I know...then try and push forward more

Registry "cleaner": There is no such thing. They mostly do nothing useful but sometimes they cause serious damage.

Registry hacking: Don't unless you know exactly what you are doing.

In either case:

  • Create a Restore Point before interfering with the registry.
  • Burn a Windows Repair CD before you do anything. This is important!

If you do not have a CD/DVD drive then you must create a bootable USB flash disk: http://mintywhite.com/windows-7/7maintenance/create-bootable-windows-7-system-repair-usb-drive-netbooks/. You will need the assistance from a friend who has a CD drive and who can burn a Windows 7 Repair CD.

It is so true there is nothing to clean up a registry once it done it done. I have conducted on downloading so many programs but have  turned the table to the fact Incan get into there program and get the register Key with out purchasing the program. However most of these company's are still selling there products and have either globally lost there lances or there certificates   are no longer authentic. I did a comparison and use roughly 10 different programs downloaded and the mistakes varied from 100 1,5000. to my stand Microsoft defender for virus Microsoft for security which cost me 0 money.  Only all the programs agreed 100% no virus .  However this is the deal when you go to delete the program you can not it tell you. You have but it hide that is some of the programs you do the restart but it in bedded in you system files in programs therefore out of the ten 3 had to be manual deleted file by file until the folder was empty.   It is a one make a back up for me I been on systems for 16 year not for the average person I do not think can do what I think I have acomplished

"Registry "cleaner": There is no such thing. They mostly do nothing useful but sometimes they cause serious damage."  ANSWER ~>

As far as "Damage", be very carefull if you attempt to EDIT the Registry yourself and, YES, inappropriate or Impropper Versions of Registry Cleaners for your Version of Windows, may function BUT Mess it up!

Seek out the Correct Version of a Registry Cleaner for your Specific Version of Windows (or what ever Operating System you are using) AND Be Sure it's Completely Compatible with your System 1st!

Like many Antivirus programs, they may require that you pay an Annual Fee to continue to recieve updates, after your Initial purchase which covers you for 1 year at the basic level.

IF By Chance, you use Symantec's (Older named "Norton") products, they NOW have a Complete Security package Including Registry Clean-Ups for Windows from XP-7 at very competitive cost!  I used "Bit-Defender Antivirus" several years back because they were the ONLY Few PPL having a 64-bit AV program available and Work to the highest standards for the price!  They turned me on to "UniBlue" Registry Repair/Cleaner.  Works Excellent!  I transferred it from my Vista to Win-7-64Bit and ran like a charm!  You won't find it listed in "Affliate Review Sites", therefore ya aren't payin' the "Middle-Man"!

The prices are 'bout to the SAME.. BUT THe Computer Protection is TOP-OF-THE-LINE!  Full Internet Protect and Reg-Cleaner combined - "Norton 360 Version5" (Includes AV and Internet!, Performs with LEAST SYSTEM NOTICABLE SLOWDOWN! Bout $60 for 1-3 systems), a Super Reg-Cleaner (if that's all you're looking for, "RegistryBooster" 'bout $29 annually).  Can't be beat!

Sorry man...I'm all for creating a restore point, if allowed, but I can't burn a Windows Repair CD. This is one of those...what do they call them...the little bit smaller than a "big" laptop sort of more directed towards the user who doesn't need or want a full "rig" or perhaps even the "desktop" laptop...  now I did manage to save a copy of at least a good chunk of the errors the registry has in a file...so, yeah, maybe not clean but de-error. lol. think it'd be possible?
