Windows 7 SP1 keeps rebooting with error code WMI error 10 Event filter 0x80041003

Within system application log  reports _ Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

This happens atleast twice a day and seems to only happen with SP1

I was going to re-image the PC with just Windows 7 but my recovery CD from the supplier comes with SP1 and I belive this is what is causing the problem. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Regards

Steve

    Hi,

    1. What changes were made to your machine prior to the issue occurring?

Follow the steps mentioned below and check if the issue persists.

    Step 1:

You might check if you can "Disable automatic restart on system failure " from the advance options. This way the computer will not go into a reboot loop.

    Step 2:

I'd suggest you boot your computer in safe mode and check if the issue persists.

    Step 3:

If the system works fine in safe mode, I suspect there could be a third party software conflict causing the issue to occur. I'd suggest you boot your machine in a clean boot state.

Note: Follow step 7 to restart your computer as usual.

    Step 4:

This problem occurs if the WMI filter is accessed without sufficient permission

I'd have you look into the below article and check if the step is applicable to your Operating System as well.

Event ID 10 is logged in the Application log after you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1, Windows 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

It may not be applicable to your Operating System, but there is no harm in carrying out the steps.
