My music has a bunch of folders that are empty but it will take forever to look at every single one.  I want to search by size or someway that will make it easier to find and delete

    Hello !

    If you do want to delete all the empty folders only ! go to Computer and at the top right click on search. Click on kind and Select folder, now click again on search and click on size, select 0 and click on search.

    This should list all the empty folders

    Regards

    Does not work for me:

    "Kind:=Folder size:empty"

    returns no results.  The syntax of one having := and the other just : seems weird but I used the dropdown and that's how it appears in the search field.

    Cannot sort folders by size either, because the size column has no values for folders, only files.  I can mouse over and see the "size" of a folder, so I don't know why Microsoft couldn't either (a) populate the size field with the value that appears on mouseover or (b) if that value shouldn't be called "size" but rather something else like "contents size", then call it that, create a separate property and make it a sortable column applicable to folders only and blank for files (just like "size" is currently blank for folders!!).  Would that be impractical for some reason?

    I am using the latest File Manager in Windows 10 and it does not work.  Come on Microsoft!

    Under search Tools I can choose the search options for Kind as "Folders" and then select Size equals "Empty" (kind:=folder size:empty ).  The results are "No items match your search."  I know there are dozens of items that match my criteria and at some level Windows knows it, because if I pass my cursor over the folders it displays "folder is empty."

    Very Frustrating!

    In windows 7 on my machine there is no option to select folders as a criteria. I can add date modified and size as a criteria, but not type.

    Am I missing something?

    EDIT: Never mind, I found you can type the keyword "kind:" and it will pop a list of objects.
