I am not sure why you are having a problem. I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit computer and was able to print a .tiff file with no problem using Windows Photo Viewer. However, I have seen many threads about the same problem you are having.

Check to see if you default programs is set for .tiff files to open with Windows Photo Viewer.

You can look at the suggestions from the post below:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/windows-7-wont-print-through-photo-viewer-and/35775d90-4e4c-4d86-ad46-b4576ca85255

As a workaround, right-click and "Open With" Paint. Go to File->Page Setup..., and Fit to "1x1" page, hit OK. Now, see if you can print the .tiff file.

Please reply back and let us know.

If this was sent to you as a zip file, remember to extract the files from the zip.   If you do this  the TIFF files should be available to print.  from the windows viewer.   I had the same problem and finally figured out  out was looking at the preview in the zip file.  In the preview mode the adobe dwg/docs will print but the TIFF's will not.

Good Luck it only took me an hour to figure that out.  LOL.

Thank you Diana.  I only wish I waited for your answer before calling Dell in a panicked work-related time crunch.

From what I understand,Tiff files are not generally multi-page documents. The files I need to open, print, and navigate easily around are from a government agency.  One large file has several Tiff file exhibits and those Tiff files can be hundreds of pages long.

I am able to print now, but so far, I am not able to choose the pages I need to print.  So,  if I need print 10 pages from Exh. 3F, I cannot.  Exh 3F is 150 pages long.  I must print all 150 pages.    Is there a work around on this?  A this point I am afraid (and frankly do not have the time) to call Dell with this question.  Maybe I need to just feel lucky I can print at all at this point.

What are your thoughts on this?

    Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for your help.  I am printing out the two replies in case I have trouble again.

Windows Photo Viewer was set as my default. I have a brand new computer-a Dell.  I made the mistake of calling Dell's customer support number.  A very long scary custmer service story short:  Dell software tech. thought I could not print b/c the Tiff files I needed to print were "read only."   After extracting an $89 "warranty" fee,  she assured me she could fix it.  She wrote code (I think) and it ended up corrupting the Windows Photo Viewer all together and otherwise messing up my computer.  I ended needing to reload Windows 7 and re-format.  Now-I can navigate through  the multi-page Tiff files AND print.

Like I said, I will be printing out your reply and Diana's reply.  Good to know when/if  I ever have questions in the future you guys are here.

Again,  thank you for your good work, time, and help.

    Hi,

    ·          Was it working before?

    ·          Does it happen only for a particular picture?

Step 1: Run the system file checker tool

Check the article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833    “How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7”

    Step 2:

    a. Browse to C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Viewer.

    b. Leave that window open and then go to start, accessories, and right click over “Command Prompt” and choose run as “Administrator” and press enter.

    c. Type “C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Gallery” and press enter.

    d. Next you need to register some of the files in this folder, for each file ending with .dll, do this…

    e. Type regsvr32 and the file name then press enter.

    f. For example regsvr32 Photoviewer.dlland press enter. There is a space between regsvr32 and photoviewer.dll.

    e. It should say something with the file name and “succeeded”. If not you need to try it again and watch the spacing.

Note: If you cannot see the file extensions (The .dll) go explore and choose Organize, Folder and search options, click on the view tab, and then uncheck hide extensions for known file types.
