    Hi justinleelondon,

Follow these steps and see if that fixes the issue:

    a.     Click “Start.”

    b.     Type “services.msc” in the Start search box and hit “Enter.”

    c.     Right-click “Network Location Awareness” service and click “Properties.”

    d.     Under “Startup type”, select “Manual.”

    e.     Click “Start” to start the service.

    f.      Click “Apply” and “OK.”

Additionally, check for the dependency services of “Network Location Awareness”**.**To check for the dependency service, right-click “Network Location Awareness” and select Properties and **** click **** the Dependencies tab.

Make sure that the status of the dependency services is also set to “Manual/Automatic.”

I thoght I would reply to this post because I spent several days, blogs and a new hard drive. After installing win 7 on my new ssd I had the same problem. I just installed my video driver both times so I rolled back the driver -no luck! My computer kept booting into the black screen, then on reboot with the win 7 disk it would go all the way to what looked like the desktop but without any taskbar, etc.

I found several "help" sites that said it must be a virus, etc... Golkul's response to Justinleelondon's problem was right on! I can't tell you how many cmd lines and "wonder" programs I tried that just got me deeper into the hole! So THANK YOU!

    To answer Justin's question to..

"Make sure that the status of the dependency services is also set to “Manual/Automatic

Read that as ...FROM automatic TO manual. If you read the administrator log you will find the "dependency service" It's the one which needs to get a response from the first service...just set it to manual too. My dependency service was right above it 'Network List Service'

I did some testing and after setting "network location awareness" to manual start, you have to assure that "network list services" is set to automatic or automatic delayed start. I'm not sure the delay will help anything.
