My touchpad is locked how do I unlock it?

I WAS TYPING AND MY HAND WAS OVER THE TOUCHPAD MOUSE PART WAY THE A SMALL BOX POPPED UP WITH A SIGN  SHOWING DO NOT TOUCH, I MOVED MY HAND AND AN ORANGE SMALL LIGHT IS NOW LITE UP ON THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE TOUCH PAD.

    On my Dell L501x, there is a button on the keyboad between the F12 key and the Insert key. If pressed, it mocks and unlocks the keyboard. When locked, an orange light appears above the touchpad.
