I currently experience exactly the same problem. When trying to install my Brother MFC-5490CN network printer. During the setup a Window pops up only stating "Error 0x00000002", then i click OK and setup finishes but doesnt install any printer.

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit with SP1 and latest updates installed. The computer is a member of a W2k8 Server based domain.

    Any suggestions?

PS: I installed the printer driver on a few other computers (same OS, same environment) and it worked like a charm. Just one computer wont let me install it.

The model # of the printer is Kodak ESP7250.  I set up a homegroup with 3 computers and the wireless printer.  I think the problem is that when one of the kids tried to print, my machine (the host) wasn't on and she couldn't print.  Just found out that the host computer needs to be on for another user to print.  Then I tried troubleshooting and uninstalling and re-installing the printer software..etc, that's when i got the 0x00000002 error (trying to install the print driver).  I ended up doing a system restore and now I am ok. Seems like the homegroup option doesn't work for me, since you have to leave the host computer on for someone else to print.
