Is there a way to copy a file from my remote computer to my local computer using Remote Desktop? I easily access my work computer from home, but cannot seem to be able to figure out how to copy a file from one to the other. I have files on my remote computer I want to copy to the local (home) one and neither Copy-Paste or Drag-and-drop do not seem to work.

I would be able to do so using LogMeIn or Citrix, but prefer using Remote Desktop. Does anyone know if RD has this capability?

Did you enable access to disc drives?

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-can-I-use-my-devices-and-resources-in-a-Remote-Desktop-session

    1. Click Start, point to All Programs (or Programs), point to Accessories and then click Remote Desktop Connection.
    2. Click Options, and then click the Local Resources tab.
    3. In the Local devices and resources section click More, and check the Drives checkbox (expand as needed) then click OK.

    Also note this...

"Due to security restrictions, you can't copy a file from a remote computer to the root folder of a drive on this computer unless you're logged on using the default computer administrator account."

    1.  Open the Windows File Explorer on the remote computer ( i.e. the computer you are remotely connecting to).

    1. Expand the Network Icon

    3.   You should see an icon labeled tsclient (default name) or whatever name your IT guy assigned your computer for access.  At this point, things should look familiar, because these are drives and folders on the computer your are using or currently working from remotely.  I usually find my computer's desktop and copy files from the remote computer to it.  But you can place files wherever you want. The following is how to find your desktop.

    1. Expand the folders - most likely C: drive - and find the folder titled Users.
    2. Expand the user folders to find Desktop.
    3. To make things easy during future connections. Right -click on the Desktop folder and click "send to"  Desktop. This will place a shortcut for your computer,s desktop on the remote computer's desktop and make file transferring easy. Just drag and drop files to the shortcut.
    4. Enjoy...

And then what? Is my drive supposed to show up on the remote desktop as a disk drive or what is supposed to happen after I add my harddrive as a local ressource?
