If you are trying to insert the therefore symbol into a Word document

Hold down the ALT key and type 8756

In Excel, select insert, then select Symbol.

Then using the pulldown menu by Font, select Symbol

Type character code 92 in decimal.

You can do the same in Word as well.

I'm currently trying other sources, not Wordpad yet.  It's on my list.

The Alt+8756 gave a "4" character. I don't want to try all 999 combinations.  With Age Related Macula Degeneration, I am slow.  Good references and will use what I find that works.

ALT+8756 is pretty easy for those who have and routinely user their numerical pad.

There is however a problem:  most notebooks do not have a separate numerical pad and there are some keyboards that don't have any numerical pad functionality.  Attempting to use ALT+any numbers does not work unless you are using an actual numerical or mapped keypad.  This means that the top row number keys won't work.

You can confirm whether this will work on mapped keys by trying to type the numbers.  Not all keyboards act the same way.  Doesn't matter.  Turn Num Lock on and type the letter "u" and you should get "4".  If you get "u" try pressing the function "Fn" key while typing "u" and you should get a "4".  This ALT+ function will not work if you can't get numbers out of your numeric keypad.  Once you can squeeze numbers out of it, the ALT+ functions will work a treat.

Remember some keyboards don't have this function (Microsoft Arc Keyboard).

I spent a few minutes trying to sort this out and upon success thought others might have use for it.
