When you boot your computer the Dell screen should be the first screen you see. When it appears look for the instructions on which key to press to enter the bios. It should be something similar to "Press F2 to enter set-up" (F2 is the proper key for many Dell's but is only an example). Your particular computer may require you to press Del or some other key. Once you are in the bios first make sure the hard drive is listed. If not, then you either have a bad cable connecting the drive to the board, a bad hard drive or a bad board (Not likely the board... Breathe now...lol). If the hard drive is being detected in the bios then navigate to the boot order (sequence) menu and make sure the hard drive is set as a boot device. It should normally be set to be the second boot device with the cd/dvd rom device being the first.
