Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W compatibilty with Windows 7, comes up as "Unspecified" device

I have a Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W laser printer that works quite well, I just updgraded to Windows7 from XP but my printer doesn't work anymore. It appears as PP1350W in the "Devices and Printers" window as an unspecified device. I tried installing the Vista Drivers for the Page Pro 1400W and now that printer appears in under "printers and Faxes", however the PP1350W is still listed as an unspecified device and printing to the 1400W does nothing. What's worse is not I can't even remove the 1400W no matter how many times I tell it to remove, it just automatically pops up again. Is there a generic driver out there for the PagePro 1350W that will work in Windows7 so I can at least have basic printing functionality?

Hello gUnit101,

From what i see in the Compatibility Center there are several versions of the PagePro printer that are compatible but the 1350 is not listed.  The 1100 and 1400 are listed but not the 1350.  I would check with Konica to see if they have updated drivers for your specific model or see if the drivers for one of the other models can work with your printer.

Regards,

It's an older model but not ancient. The problem lies with Konica and how they do not want to invest any time or resources into updating their drivers to work with Windows 7.   Personally, I am not a fan of Samsung. Their hw is great but their sw sucks.

BTW, I got my 1350W to work with Win 7 x64 XP mode. See several pages back where I commented on this (success) for those who want to try. Dont ask me to tell u what drivers I used because it was a while ago. It was a very frustrating process.

I also have this same printer & I have win7 professional. It sees my printer and tried to install drivers. it sees it perfectly and identifies it as a pagepro 1350w but has a driver failure! I checked windows update and sit sees no new updates in either optional or urgent.  Any ideas?

Confirmed as working. Connect the printer (and turn on), go to Windows Update, search for updates and hopefully it will be there. As a side note, the Konica Minolta website is stating that no driver for the printer will be available until July 2010. Thank you very much, fedup!

I had exactly the very same problem with Pagepro 1350W under Vista. But now I have Windows 7 Ultimate (RC) and when I have tried with this, to my surprise it has has downloaded the driver under windows update and is working fine without any problem. You may try this. Under windows update this update is showing as KONICA MINOLTA - printer - KONICA MINOLTA PagePro 1350W
