I am trying to create a system restore point and when I click create, I get a error message that saids," The restore point could not be created for the following reason: An error was detected in the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). The problem occurred while trying to contact VSS writers. Verify that the Event System service and the VSS service are running and check for associated errors in the event logs.(0x80042318 Please try again" I check the event logs and found nothing. Both services are running and started. I tried restarting my computer but I keep getting the same error.

    Hi,

Log on to a different user account and check for the issue.

If you do not have another user account then create one and check for the same.

    Hi,

    ·         Since when are you facing the issue?

Check for any system file corruptions. To do this, follow these steps:

    a.        Click Start, All programs and then Accessories. Right Click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

    b.       In the Command Prompt window type “sfc /scannow” (without quotes) and then press Enter.

    c.        After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check for the issue.
