Hello support team.

i've tried connecting this product:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Kensington%20Wireless%20Presenter%20with%20Laser%20Pointer%20Remote%20Control&v=Kensington&uid=33374US&l=en-US&pf=4&pi=3&s=kensington%20bluetooth&os=64-bit

Now, we are talking on a windows 7 64 bit version.

when i plugged in the usb, it recognized it as: "USB Input device". installed successfully and that's about it.

The product didn't respond or work at all.

i've sent several pictures regarding this to the manufactor and they said i should call them (whcih is pretty much a problem since they dont have a global phone, but per country).

Either way, they said it's a "plug and play" and in my case, it isn't true, nor do they have some kind of software to fix the problem for me.

    Hi Nir212,

    ·         Have you made any changes on the computer prior to this issue?

    ·         Do you get any error message or an error code?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Run the hardware and device troubleshooter.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-the-Hardware-and-Devices-troubleshooter

Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall all USB controllers. Follow the steps:

    a)    Click Start, type device manager on the search box and press enter.

    b)    Device manager window will open, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

    c)    Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.

    d)    Restart the computer, windows will reinstall the USB controllers.

    e)    Plug in the removable USB storage device, and then test to make sure that the issue is resolved.

Method 3: Put the computer in clean boot state to see if there is any software conflict as clean boot helps to eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting steps, follow Step 7 in the link to return the computer to Normal startup mode.

Method 4: Also try connecting the device with a different USB port on the computer.

Make sure you have the latest windows update installed on the computer.

Install Windows updates in Windows 7

Also install the latest chipset drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

    Hi MS team

Due to Corporate policy, I do not have administrator right to turn on Windows Update.

I found that there is some Windows update will solve the problem.

Done some Windows update on my personal laptop both Windows 7 Pro 32 bits & Windows 8 Pro 64 bits, however I am not able to pinpoint to the particular update ID. e.g KB....

May be you could advise us which Update ID contain HID USB device driver.

    Hi Microsoft Team

    Any update?

Well, none of the above worked.

I'm sorry but the company should supply some kind of software to support installing of this device. we've tried it out as you said and in several computers and none worked.

Same thing here, 3 machines, 2 pointers brand new, nothing.  Did you ever resolve?  I'm not removing my usb controllers, as every other device works perfectly.

    Did you ever resolve?
