How to view the H1S file in Windows 7 other than the HelpPane.exe?

Hi all,

There are several hundred of H1S files on the computer. What shall I do if I want to view the contents of a particular H1s file?

I know the H1S file is the compiled help format which can be viewed by the Help and Support component. However, when I double-click a H1S file and choose to open with the "Microsoft Help and Support" and then click Ok, nothing happens.

What I want to do is to localize a H1S file and test the result. Since the HelpPane generates no response, could I view the result in another programme?

Thanks!

    HiDaiweiYan**,**

You can try opening the files withNotepad or another text editor. Many files are text-only files meaning no matter the file extension, a text editor may be able to properly display the file's contents.

If you want only that file to open in the program this one time, clear the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box, and then click OK.

    Hope this helps.
