trying to install and run a game- cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version File “granny2.dll”

granny2.dll

I am trying to install and run a game 1701 AD Gold Edition.  After all the install is done and I try to load the game, I get the following error:

cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version File “granny2.dll”, function _GrannyNewMeshDeformer@16 (error 0)

Any help?  Should I find and install granny2.dll, or is this a potential threat?

    Thank you for replying Joel.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game 4 times now, with the same error.  I am contacting the vendor (again) to see if they can help me get the dll.  I'd really love to play my game...

    Hi,

    Granny2 is not a potential threat, it is a key component for playing the game.

    My advice would be to completely reinstall the game.

    If that does not work you should ask the game vendor for assistance in obtaining the correct dll.

    It is not advicable to just download from any dll site as that might just be infected dll's. So go for the software vendor.
