I noticed I now have THM files in my pictures library.  What is this and how do I open them?

I have so many pictures that just have the windows picture gallery logo on them and when I try to open them, I can't.

They are thumbnail files that are paired with .avi video files of the same name.

They usually are created by a camera taking videos. They also contain information about the camera taking the picture.

The thumbnail can be opened by any program that can open a jpeg file. You ususally will have to specify that program. An alternative is to rename the extention as .jpeg.
