Fixed: I searched the extension on a larger scope and found it! Thank you so much, wouldn't have ever found it without that help!
My Windows 7 Home Premium DOESN'T Have Media Center
I just got my 360 for Christmas, and it was when i tried to connect it to Media Center (about 5 minutes ago) that I realized my PC didn't have it. It isn't in All Programs and i did a start search and couldn't find it. I also tried going to Turn Windows Features On or Off, but Media Center was already checked.
What do I do?
Edit: I also just checked Control Panel - Programs and Features and didn't see it. There is a laptop I could use, but the laptop has MAJOR connection problems. It will stay connected for hours and then disconnect and reconnect randomly. Before this happened, it crashed and we had it restored. When we used the disc that came with it to reinstall Office 2007 the wireless driver was unitstalled as well (???). We got it fixed and now it does this... Help on either issue would be very helpful.
EDIT: FIXED. i couldnt find it anywhere, but i knew it had to be there. so, knowing that a .dvr file opens with media center by default (i looked in default programs), i made a new text document and changed the file extension to .dvr and there you go.
as it turns out, since this computer is so new, i havent really tried to use WMC yet, until now. it wasnt set up yet. (silly me, my mistake) but thanks to anyone who would have helped.

2011-06-25T21:39:04+00:00 I clicked the start button and searched for the extension there and found nothing. I don't know if it's because I've never used it or what the problem is. I just know that when I go into windows features, under "windows media" I have windows media center. It doesn't seem like it should be so hard to use. And I have scoured the internet, and windows sites show that I should be able to find it right in my start up menu.

2011-06-25T07:36:17+00:00 I'm trying to figure out Windows Media Center. I tried everything you suggested, and it is turned on in windows features, so I know I have it. I'm just not clear on how you changed the file name to .dvr to make it work. Can you dumb it down a little for me? I tried saving something in notepad, but I'm blank on how to change the extension. If you could step by step it I would Soooo appreciate it. I
I can usually google my way through anything, but this is a head scratcher for me.
Thanks!
