WinRAR is an application which compresses file and folders into one compressed file. Which is basically another form of a Zip file.

Not really for organising files and folders, but very useful for making a backup of files, or for sending files by email, or for soting file that are rarely accessed but you don't want to delete, as the file size is compressed down as much as possible.

    Here is WinRAR's website: http://www.rarlab.com/

WinRaR compresses and archives files and folders into one ZIP or RAR file. It will also unzip/extract any ZIP or RAR files you might have or get sent.

This is useful for sending large files via email, or maybe as a backup solution.

You can get more information from their website: http://www.rarlab.com/

Windows 7 can create ZIP files straight out the box, right click file/folder -> send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder, and unzip files. But it can't dot the same with RAR files, which is really the only reason why you would have it.

I want my computer to recommend were I can file folders, programs. I want to know if WinRAR archiver is for that or what it is for. Thank you

No, WinRAR archiver is not that. It's a program that compresses and uncompresses files in RAR and ZIP formats.

You don't need any recommendation as to where to put programs. When you install a program, Windows will automatically put it in the correct place.

For your own folders, there are no correct places, and Windows can't recommend one. You need to decide for yourself where you want to put them.
