Hi guys, i ran the rate your computers  performance and it could not compleat because of the following message...

cannot compleat assessment the assessment or other operation did not compleat successfully. this is due to an error being reported from the operating system, driver or other component.

I do not understand what this means or how to fix it.

Hi Leigh,

  1. Did you make any recent hardware or software changes?

Method 1:

You may try the steps given below and check if it helps.

a. Click Start, type the following path in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER:

%SYSTEMROOT%\Performance\WinSat\DataStore

b. Try to delete everything but the most recent file.

c. Reboot the computer and try doing the re-assessment.

Method 2:

a. Click on start and type cmd and right click on cmd and select Run as an Administrator.

b. Type winsat formal and press Enter.

You can refer to the following article and check.

The Windows Experience Index rating may inherit an incorrect value after you make a change to your computer's hardware configuration or you start Windows Vista for the first time

Note: This aticle applies to Windows 7 also.

You can also refer to the article below for more information on Windows Experience Index.

What is the Windows Experience Index?

Check if there is information in event viewer that might help us in troubleshooting the issue:

What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)?

Hope this information is helpful.

Hi , there was a hardware change when i downloaded microsoft display -intel (R) graphics media acceceration 3150 i lost my screen picture and lenovo directed me on how to remove it as they said there was a problem with it and not to install the updat should it return i assume that was the cause as its the only thing that was changed.

I tried method one  and tried to do the assessment again but it still will not compleat ,ending with the same message.

I tried to do method two but i was not able to fully understand what to do , so i am no further on but thank you for taking time to answer and making suggestions that may help.

    regards.   Leigh.
