How to install Sims on Windows 7

I'm trying to install The Sims on my computer. I have Windows 7 Ultimate and my hard drive is way above the recommended for the game. When I auto run it the install wizard doesn't even show up. I tried going into the files and running it there but still does not work.

    Sorry for the lack of info on the main question. I am trying to install Sims 1 deluxe edition. I tried the steps and it still does not work for me. Also sorry I ment to say hardware not hard drive.
