What is Intel Management Engine Component?

I use TuneUp Utility and it shows me that the Intel Management Component is really not a necessary program to run on the background and it creates a lot of pressure on the machine. I really need to know the use and work of Management Engine component and its importance. thank you.

    The Intel management Components monitor the installed Intel hardware, such as chip sets, storage, and other components. They will notify you if there are problems, updated drivers, and other information about those components.

    These are components that are usually installed by the computer manufacturer.

    I would recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your computer for more information.
