    Hi aaabbbcccdddeeefffggg,

    Try the following steps :

Type Services into the start menu search box.

In Services, scroll down to "Remote Procedure Call" and make sure the status says "Started"

    and set to Automatic.

The second "RPC Locator" should be set to "Manual".

If the issue persists, as a workaround you may perform an online scan on your computer and check if the error message is caused due to malware or any virus.

Now visit the below provided link to perform an online scan on your computer.

Later try installing updates and check.

I contected my laptop to my desk top using a homegroup.  Everything was working fine until Yahoo told me to update my browers.  Once i did that, I was unable to print from the web.  I can still print from MS Office.  I am soo frustrated.  I have changed my Homegroup and done everything I can think of to me it work again.  But, when I try to print from Exporer I am still getting a message that says "Call procedure failed" res://ieframe.dll/preview.js

Can anyone help me fix it please.  I am using Windows 7 for my laptop and the other computer in my homegroup is Windows XP.

    Hi ash8766,

    1. What exactly happens when you try to click the "Remote Procedure Call” service settings?

    2. Which Operating System is installed on the computer?

    Method 1:

You may run a full computer scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if that fixes the issue. Refer the following link for more information:

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Method 2: ****Perform SFC (System file checker) scan and see whether the issue is resolved or not.

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 ******http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833**

    Let us know the outcome!
