I would like help with updating drivers.  I have the list printed out from the computer manuf. of downloads.  I started with one from Sigmatel Hd Audio driver.  I downloaded it to a compressed zip file.  I extracted the files and tried to install.  The computer went black and shut down.  I have restored the GatewayGT5408 to open again.  I was following the instructions from Vista Dummies.  Please tell me the correct procedure to open and install these zipped files.  I'm alittle afraid to try it again.  I'm 70 years old and would like simple instructions.  Thanks.

You start by unzipping the .zip file content to a folder (usually the folder is created automatically but not always, so when you see the"Extract To" directory prompt choose or create a folder for the destination/location where the unzipped file will reside).

Once the folder is created, use Windows Explorer to browse the contents of the driver folder that was created. You should see a file named "Setup.exe", double click on this file to start the driver install.

Generally the first driver you should install is the Motherboard/chipset driver, followed by the SATA, USB, LAN and other drivers (each of which should be unzipped to there own unique folder)
