What would cause videos to freeze up for a few seconds, then play. This repeats  every few seconds.

I have check my drivers and they are current, it says.

I have High Definition Audio Device, Version 6.0.602.18005, Driver Date 6/21/2006. Manufacturer, Microsoft.

I also have ViA High definition Audio. I'm not sure which one or any of these two are causing the problem. I'm runnning Windows Vista.

Thank you for any solutions.

Where are getting the videos, from a file on your computer or over the internet? If the latter, the problem occurs because your internet connection is not fast enough to keep up with the video.

Your internet connection may be slower than the stream, and then it has to catch up so it buffers and causing a lag.

Open media player, go to Organize, then click on options.

    Click the Performance tab.

Go to Network Buffering. You can change between “Use default buffering (recommended) or you can select  Buffer and enter in the number of seconds of content to buffer.

    Hope this helps.
