SWE. files?

when I try to use a certain website for work I get a box that says I have chosen to open an SWE. file.  I download it but cannot open. I am using Vista.

    What is the web site?  Are you sure it is .swe and not .swf or .swi?  The latter are both file extensions for Flash animations, which are very commonly found on many web sites.  But .swe is not very common.  Here are the only known uses for that file extension:

    NHL 2002 (hockey game)

    Personal Paint user interface file swedish language

    SendaWin etiquetas labels

    Sweater Wizard knitting pattern

    Sweden localization language file

    Any time you find a file extension that you do not have the program to open, question it and look it up on the Internet before you attempt to open it.  It could very well be a virus.

    .SWE is Siebel Web Extension (SWE), which is an extension on top of Java for Oracle.
