Hi,

The feature "Show background effects" seems to not be present in linux.
Please add this feature for the linux client as well.

I need to have a wallpaper of my own in Teams calls, however, I use Linux and I can't get a background image to work properly: the background image mixes with my real image, it is a mess. Does anyone know if there is any solution?

I first saw this feature last week when using Teams within Microsoft Edge on Linux (my laptop running Ubuntu 18.04, to be precise).
There was a setting for background effects, and one option was to blur the background. It worked, too.

I am in another Teams session right now, and I cannot find the feature now. I am running the beta version.

So it does seem to be coming, but I am not sure when.

If you are still looking for a solution to blur or add background on teams linux native app, I have created a workaround solution to do so.

You can check this github repository and follow the instructions there.

Yes, snap supports changing the background, but it does not allow the user to add a custom background image.

Sure, but adding custom images is not a problem for me. My target is simply masking my room background. :)
