original title: brightness/contract box.
i have a black box in the middle of my computer screen that say brightness/contract on the top. how do i remove it? i have tried everything starting my computer

It sounds like the On Screen Display (OSD) is stuck in the on position. There should be some buttons on the side of your monitor that should help you get rid of this. If you're not sure exactly where they are you can try going to the manufacturer's website to find exactly how to turn it off.
