I tried to install printshop deluxe 15 in new hp computer - it says I have a previous version and asks if I want to uninstall first - whether I answer yes or no - the screen comes up that the program is exiting.  I had not installed it on this new computer

  • what can I do to get this installed?

Are you installing from a CD or from a downloaded installer package?

That's a really old version of Printshop.  Is there some reason you're not using the current version?

What version of Windows is installed on your new computer, including service pack?

This is what Broderbund has to say about the same situation for the current version (23.1).  If it doesn't help, you probably should ask Broderbund directly:http://www.broderbund.com/c-4-contact-us.aspx

    Problem

I can not install this version of Print Shop because my computer detects a previous version has already been installed

    Solution

Instructions for full removal of Symantec and The Print Shop from Windows XP

    1. Start by clicking on the Start menu and then click on Control Panel.
    2. From the Control Panel click on Add or Remove Programs
    3. Find Symantec Workspace Streaming Agent in the list of programs and click on it, Click the Change/Remove button, you will be prompted that this will also remove the application The Print Shop. Click OK.
    4. After the initial un-installation, you may be prompted that the uninstall process has identified a locked file. “Please close Internet Explorer in order to remove it.” Closing Internet Explorer automatically finishes the process.
    5. After both Symantec Workspace Streaming Agent and The Print Shop are un-installed there are a few leftover files we should also get rid of.
    6. Click the Start Menu, and choose All Programs, then choose Accessories, then choose Systems Tools, Then choose Disk Cleanup.
    7. On the Disk Cleanup for (C:) window, there is a Disk Cleanup tab, scroll down the list and click the Check box for Temporary files. Click OK, and then click Yes to confirm.
    8. This will complete the un-installation of The Print Shop. You should now be able to install the new version.
