Getting message: "Component Transfer Error. Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)" and "hook error." while installing game

Original title: Installation Errors

I have two old games I'd like to play again. One is called "Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe" and the other is "Knights of Honor." With "Tycoon," I get the following message: "Component Transfer Error. Data Error (cyclic redundancy check.)" For "Knights," I keep getting an error message that warns me of a "hook error."

How do I correct these so I can I run them on Windows 7?

The last time I played "Knights," I was on Windows XP.

    ·         Are you installing game online or from CD/DVD?

    The error message “Component Transfer Error. Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)” means that the operating system cannot read or write the data correctly. This can happen if the CD/DVD has damaged information or the data downloaded is corrupt.

    If you downloaded the expansion pack from Internet then, I would suggest you to download it again and check if the issue persists. If you have a CD/DVD of the expansion pack then, I would suggest you to clean the CD/DVD and then try again. If that also fails then, check if you can install the expansion pack from CD/DVD onto any other computer.

    “Rooler Coaster” game is compatible Windows 7 whereas "Knights of Honor" you need to check that on the game manufacturer’s website.
