Will Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition run on an Intel second generation core i7 processor?

The Asus P8P67 Deluxe motherboard will be an LGA socket 1155 with Intel P67 chipset with a second generation core i7 processor  I don't want to run Windows 7 or Windows 8 (I'm currently trying the Beta version).  The reason for the x64 Edition is because of the large amount of RAM it will support  Does anyone have an answer?  Thank you.

As long as the hardware manufacturers for any hardware you plan to use have drivers/support for Windows XP; yes.

As far as the processor - yes.

    The motherboard - yes.

So as long as your other hardware (whatever it may be) still is supported under Windows XP Professional Edition 64-bit, you should be fine.
