Hello,
I am trying to install a GCC Elite 21N printer, manufactured by Xerox, identical to the Xerox DocuPrint N2125. It is connected to my computer via USB.
(My computer is a 64-bit self-built system, which I "upgraded" this week from Centos 6.3 to Windows 7 Ultimate. I have successfully used this printer with my 64-bit computer under Centos and with a different 32-bit computer under Windows XP.)
When I turn the printer on, under "Devices and Printers", I see the icon "Elite 21 Series"
in the "Unspecified" group. (When I right-button the icon and select "Troubleshoot", I
eventually get the message "GCCElite 21 Series doesn't have a driver".)
Under "Add a printer" I see the notation "Windows automatically installs USB printers when you plug them in." (Obviously, this didn't work.)
The link (in the quote above) takes me to the Xerox website where I downloaded the file "32_64bitw2kps.exe". I tried to install this file (using "Add a local printer"). This mechanism expects a *.inf file, rather than a *.exe file.
Apparently, this is a problem with Windows 7, since this printer worked well with two different computers with 2 different operating systems. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
