how do I instantly repair Windows Installer Service?

Every time I try to do an Adobe update it fails. So i did some research and found that I can instantly repair Windows Installer Service. I can not figure out how to do this. Can anyone help me with this? im not very computer smart so give me a little detail please. Thank you very much!!!

    How do I manually repair this..

    Repair Options

     /f[p|e|c|m|s|o|d|a|u|v] <Product.msi | ProductCode>

      Repairs a product

      p - only if file is missing

      o - if file is missing or an older version is installed (default)

      e - if file is missing or an equal or older version is installed

      d - if file is missing or a different version is installed

      c - if file is missing or checksum does not match the calculated value

      a - forces all files to be reinstalled

      u - all required user-specific registry entries (default)

      m - all required computer-specific registry entries (default)

      s - all existing shortcuts (default)

      v - runs from source and recaches local package

    Unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. On the "Start" menu, click "Run:.
    2. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.
    3. On the "Start" menu, click "Run".
    4. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.

    Try to ensure that Windows Installer service is running, or force start it.

    1.. Open Run, and type in services.msc then press Enter. Alternatively, go

    to Control Panel -> Administrator Tools -> Services.

    2.. Locate Windows Installer in the all install services listing.

    3.. Verify that the Status is Started. If the Status column is blank,

    right click on Windows Installer and select Start.

    4.. If you get error trying to force start the Windows Installer service,

    try to change the Startup Type to Automatic (default is Manual), and then

    restart the computer.
