I'm interested in buying one to use it on a desktop PC, so the Transceiver will be plugged all the time....................................................................

Generally - the wireless mouse has either ON / OFF switch or automatic power off function.

And because this mouse does not have ON / OFF switch, so it has to have automatic power off function - and this function is independent of whether the transceiver is put back into the mouse, or still attached (plugged) to your computer.

    And sometimes

    • if the mouse goes into power saving mode - you must first press the mouse button to wake up.

I cut a thin plastic 16mm x 35mm strip (From a garment sales label) and insert this into the transceiver slot when I am finished with the mouse.

I mean if there an auto-turn off function without snapping into the mouse, the Transceiver will be plugged to my computer all the time

their is crude but efffectice  way to switch off the mouse in case you are very concerned the retain  battery life, keep a handy a oil pin or any thin small twig like  modified sharped  ended match stick, or tooth pick.  Just carefully  insert the pin into the very tiny  spring lever  button  ( where the usb transreciver goes into the mouse, at the bottom of the microsoft mouse( other make mouse should also have a similar lever button in case they have space to hold the usb transreceiver) .

do this immediatly  after switching off the PC / laptop  and remove  this twig / pin  on re-use , make sure the match stick or oil pin is not damage the mouse it is to big and inserted deep.
