Well I still don't know about control blocks or how to fix them but I thought  what options are there if I right click the exe. file and I scrolled down to Graphics and saw the onboard graphics and the option to use Nvidea high performance graphics so I thought I'd try try the Nvidea and magically  no more control blocks and a pristine version of pspX4 to play with.It still caused some startup problems but I managed to fix them. So thanks for your time and I hope the control blocks never visit you......Ken

    Hi,

    1. Which version of Paint pro are you trying to install?

You may check the link provided below and check the compatibility of Photo pro with Windows 7.

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=Paint%20Shop%20Pro%20

You may try to install the program in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

Hi, I installed a trial version of Paint Shop Pro and it seemed OK. The next morning my wife tried to boot the computer and no go ...had to do a system restore which meant that I'd lost the intstallation. So I tried to re-install it and now just get the message The Storage Control Block is Invalid. I have an Asus laptop  64 bit  Win 7 with an i5 processor, 4 gigs of memory and 500gig hard drive. Can't seem to get much help on Google so if you know a fix I would be much obliged....Thanks....Ken

    Hi,

    1. Which program are you trying to install?

    2. Is the computer connected to Domain?

    3. Is the issue confined to a particular program?

Based on my research this error message appears due to Software Deployment failure. The error indicates issue with storage control block; this could be an issue with Storage Controller/Tape Device/Media or the cable connecting the controller and the drive.

Please provide more information on the issue so that we may assist you better.
