This is a continuation of the problem already listed but I got no repsonse or help.

So here we go.

I have a Kodak ESP 7250 Printer Scanner

I have Windows 7 64 bit operating system

When I try to install the printer driver manually I am getting a Microsoft error code 0x00000002

When I try to install the printer through Windows update I get the error code 80070002

I have had been to Kodak tier one and tier two support. I have turned in a email to Microsoft.

I need some help with this issue.. it is driving me nuts. I feel that this is a Windows 7 issue as I am seeing other people with similiar problems but no solutions.

Ok boys and girls... Thank you for your help.  Here is the results and the answer.

Please follow these steps, and do contact us if you have any questions.

Step 1: Check if Service pack 1 is installed.

    1.      Click on “Start”, right click on computer and select “Properties”.

    2.      If service pack 1 is installed, it might be conflicting with the printer drivers, so please Uninstall service packs 1 in order to install printer drivers.

Step 2: Uninstall service pack 1.

    1.      Click on “Start” and type “appwiz.cpl” in the search box and hit enter.

    2.      Click on “View installed updates”.

    3.      Locate “service pack 1” and right click on it and click on uninstall

    Step3: Reinstall printer driver.

    1. Download drivers for Windows****7 (64) or (32) for your OS from the manufacture.
    2. Turn off printer and disconnect USB port from your computer.
    3. Restart Windows 7.
    4. Click on “Start”, type “appwiz.cpl” without quotes and hit enter key.

    5. Go to “uninstall a program” and uninstall all printer, fax and scanner software and restart Windows.

    1. Click on “Start” and then on “Control panel”.
    2. Under “Hardware and sound”, click on “View devices and printers”.

    7.  After clicking on devices and printers it will open a folder all your printer and devices.  Right click on your printer icon and remove device, do this for all your printer and fax's and restart Windows

    1. Check and make sure all software and devices are uninstalled.

    9.  Turn on printer

    1. Reconnect USB port for printer (one at a time) let windows find printer and install drivers on my computer after windows was completed loading drivers  if a message box pops up and says that you could load additional software from manufacture if needed.  Then check to see if printer was working and restart your computer again, then load your printer software which you download from manufacture.

Step 4: Reinstall service pack 1.

In order to re-install service pack 1, please click on the below link. Once the link opens click on “Download” and then install it.

This fixed the probelm.. Also for all of you tech peeps out there specifically I believe the 3.5.1. Windows framework update contained the code that did not want to work and play well with my drivers...  I am curious if uninstalling just that update would have fixed the problem. However since I unistalled the complete service pack and installed just the service pack after reinstalling my printer I guess we will never know unless one of you try this solution

Update.. I just installed my security updates to the 3.5.1 Framework updates and everything is working as it should... I guess the install sequence or tweaking of code by Microsoft fixed the big head ache for the printer driver issues.

Where are you getting the driver? From here?

    http://support.en.kodak.ca/app/answers/detail/a_id/17138/selected/true

This is the latest driver. Try it and see what happens. Do not connect the printer to the computer until asked to do so..
