Windows 7 does not include any options for creating animated

    .gif files.

One of the following freeware GIF Animators may be worth a try:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System

Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Falco GIF Animator

    http://www.falcoware.com/FalcoGIFAnimator.php(XP, Vista, 7)

    Beneton Movie GIF

    http://www.benetonsoftware.com/Beneton_Movie_GIF.php(XP, Vista, 7)

And maybe you could find an online site that would be useful...

the following link is one example and I'm sure a Google search

    would find more:

    Create An Animated GIF

    http://picasion.com/

For viewing animated .gif files on your Windows 7 machine...

the freweware IrfanView may be worth a try:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System

Restore point before installing software or updates)

    IrfanView and IrfanView Plug-ins

    http://www.download.hr/download-irfanview.html

(scroll down slightly for the download links)

    (get the plug-ins too)

To view .gif thumbs open IrfanView and go to...File / Thumbnails...and

navigate to the folder the .gif files are archived in. Double left click a

.gif to see it animate in the main view window.

Also there's a free download at the following link that may be worth a try:

    (See the post from Corgano)

Windows 7 - animated gifs and windows photo viewer 'gifview.exe'

    http://www.sevenforums.com/music-pictures-video/39095-animated-gifs-windows-photo-viewer.html

    Download...gifview.exe

    http://www.mediafire.com/?rj1i0t4omr5

Just download the gifview.exe file to your desktop and drag/drop

a .gif on the executable to launch it.
