For some reason, over the past week or so, everytime I go to save a picture from the web, they have all ben saving in PNG format, and the only other option it gives me to save as is Bitmap.

I know they all used to save as jpeg, but now everytime I save a pic, I have to enter in a full name etc and in the desired folder etc, but I cant get jpegs back?!!!

Any thoughts, ideas are very welcome

many thanks

Try deleting all the files in your Temporary Internet Files folder.

...after so many years and a litany of complaints and desperate pleas for assistance, I have come to the conclusion that Microsoft INTENTIONALLY makes pics you want saved as .png or bitmap.

They have known of this for a VERY long time and NEVER even offered a fix, so, by deduction, this may be assumed to have been a planned action on their part all along.

I dunno why, but the action, or lack of it, speaks for itself.

Do NOT expect Microsoft to help us with this, they just may be too busy laughing at our plight.

Anyone on here figure a way out of this roadblock that MS put up against us?

Simplest solution is to go MAC!...

    Hi KArmstrongSmylie,

From what source are you importing the pictures? You can change the file extension of the photos by completing the following steps:

    1. Go to Pictures or whatever location to store your photos
    2. Right-click on a photo and select copy
    3. Paste the copy in folder
    4. Right-click the copy and select Rename
    5. Change the file extension to .jpeg
    6. Select yes when you receive a prompt warning the file might become unusable.
    7. Open the copy. You may have to select the Open with application.
