Upon boot up I get message "Auto Detect (analog input)
<Original title - Cannot boot PC>
I have a HP Pavillion T560A attached to a Dell Monitor. When I power on the PC I get a message: Auto Detect (analog input). In power save mode. Press computer power button or any key on keyboard or move mouse. When I do that nothing happens. How can I boot up? Regards Jim
It has not been used for four months but was servcied only one week pprior to that and worked fine. The fan comes on and hard disk appears to be functioning. I have tried presisng the F8 key as I turn on but to no effect

2011-09-25T02:40:26+00:00 That message is (probably) coming from your monitor, which is telling you that because it doesn't see any input from the computer it (the monitor) is going into power save mode.
When you press the power on/off button on the computer, do you hear the fans come on and the hard drive spin up? Do you hear any beeps from the computer speaker?
What happened just before this all started? Power surge? Nearby lightning strike?
