Can I convert a foreign dynamic disk to a basic disk without losing the data on it?

I am using windows server 2011 (2008R2).  I had 4 1TB, and 4 2TB HDDs converted to a 12TB spanned volume.  I had to re-install the server OS so I shut down the computer and unplugged all the HDDs except the one for the OS.  After installing the os, drivers, ect... I import foreign disks and volume works fine.  Except I made an user error.  Last time I did it I accidentally left one HDD unplugged.  When I imported the foreign disks it let me do it without prompting me that it wouldn't work because there was 7 out of the 8 disks.  I ended up getting a failed partition.  After plugging in disk 8, it created 2 foreign disk groups (1 of 1) and (7 of 7) and did not reactive the volume.  After re-installing the os again, now I am stuck with 8 dynamic foreign disks with huge amount of invaluable data.  Is it possible to recover the partition, or convert the dynamic disks to basic without losing the data on them?
