I have just had to restore my laptop computer from scratch.  I am using Windows 7.  I checked the Device Manager and checked that there were no problems and no yellow !s.  All clear.  I then shut down the computer and noticed that it was downloading about 75 updates.  I then re-booted the computer the next day and, because of the updates, I checked Device Manager again and found the following problems:

Under Network Adapters it showed a yellow ! against the following:

Microsoft 6to4 Adapter

Microsoft 6to4 Adapter #2

Microsoft 6to4 Adapter #3

Microsoft ISATAP Adapter

Microsoft ISATAP Adapter#2

Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #3

Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #4

Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #5

Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #6

Teredo tunneling pseudo-interface

I then followed the following advice found on the web:

Hey everyone, I had the same code 10 problem with Teredo Tunnel Pseudo-Interface when I connected my laptop with a public library router. Fortunately I found this solution which really worked it out! (My OS is Vista x64 SP2, but I think XP and Win7 can also follow the same solution)

Solution:

  1. Open command prompt with administrator credentials (Find CMD and right-click - Run as Administrator).
  2. Enter netsh environment. Type "netsh" and ENTER.
  3. "int teredo" and ENTER
  4. "set state disabled" and ENTER.
  5. Open Device Manager and uninstall "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface".
  6. Open command prompt with administrator credentials once again.
  7. netsh + ENTER.
  8. "int ipv6" + ENTER
  9. "set teredo client" + ENTER
  10. Open Device Manager and Scan for new hardware.
  11. Select "Show hidden devices" from the View menu. You will now see that it is present without errors with any luck.

Although teredo tunneling is now not showing the other problems are.  How do I get rid of these?

    Hi,

I would suggest you to install the latest driver for the hardware from the manufacturer’s website and then check if this fixes the issue.

Refer the links to know how to update the drivers.

I have done as you suggested but still get the same problem i.e. Can't start the device - Code 10 error.  The problem is that I don't know which device this is referring to so that I can see if there is a manufacturer's solution.

    Hi,

Perform a system restore to the previous pint when it was working fine and then check if that helps.

Refer the link “System Restore Windows 7” to perform System Restore.
