how to change a .wlmp file to a .mp4 file

I am trying (unsucessfully) to save video with a .wlmp extension to a new file that I could download to my tablet. It can be a .mkv, .mp4, .mkv, 3gp, or 3g2.

    .WLMP is not a video file format is a project file format used in Windows Live Movie Maker. Basic steps you will need to do are:

    1. Open Windows Live Movie Maker.
    2. Click on dropdown menu (top left) and select Open project.
    3. Browse for you .WLMP project file and Open.
    4. Click on dropdown menu (top left) and select one of the Save movie options (not project). Your project will now start to render as a movie which may take a significant length of time.

    You should now have a video file in the common .WMV format. You can now use a convertor program or a suitable video editing program to change your .WMV file into one of the formats you need.

    This is all very confusing to the novice.  I have Windows Movie Maker v.2012 and it simply does NOT have any options under "save as" other than wlmp.   It does have an option "Save movie" which opens another drop down menu with 17 choices such as save for Android phone, myspace, vimeo, etc.  I chose save for "youtube"  which saved an 8second movie direct into MP4 format.  BUT, when I tried a 54 second movie it failed at 35% complete due to "there isn't enough memory to save this file"   I have a computer with 31GB free hard drive space and 4GB RAM.    What is going on here???

    To Change A .wlmp file to an .mp4 file

    1. Open Movie Maker.
    2. Click on the dropdown menu.
    3. Click on save Movie.
    4. Then press Recomended for this project.
    5. Go on the dropdown menu and choose .mp4.
    6. Then click SAVE
