Insert the CD into your optical drive (whether you have a DVD or CD drive)

The CD should auto run and prompt you to play it or open the disc.

If it does not, try the following:

Click Start > Computer > open the disc > and double click the setup file or MSI installer.

The disc should come with instructions about how to use it.

How do I get a CD to play?  It is a CD with instructions on how to install my printer,

How To Install Software/Drivers From A Disk

  1. Insert CD/DVD
  2. If the program auto starts simply start the installation. If the CD doesn't auto start open Windows Explorer - click Start then click Computer.
  3. Within the Windows Explorer window, open the drive that contains the installation files. For example, if they're on a CD or DVD open that drive or the letter of the disc drive.
  4. Within the drive that contains your files, locate either a setup or install file. Double-clicking on this file should start the installation for the program, game, or utility. If you see multiple setups or install files, try to locate the Application file or double-click each of setup or install files until you find the file that starts the installation.

Install a program:

If you can not install the printer using your disk, or if the CD has outdated drivers:

Check the printer manufacturers support website and look for Windows 7 drivers that you can download and install. Download the drivers for your printer model and the correct bit level for your computer

  • 32 or 64 bit - and then install them.

To see if you have Windows 7 32 or 64 bit:

  1. Open System by clicking the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
  2. Under System, you can view the system type, it will say 32 or 64 bit.

Install the drivers before connecting the printer to your computer. After installing connect the printer, if it’s still not recognized:

Try the Printer Troubleshooter

  1. Click the Start button, then click Control Panel
  2. In the search box, type troubleshooter
  3. Then click Troubleshooting
  4. Under Hardware and Sound, click "Use a printer"
