Running Windows 7on Toshiba Satellite C650. Adobe reader X has never been a problem, but currently I cannot get it to even open!  It started about 4 days ago when, also, I started getting a new irritating message asking "Are you sure you want this downloaded".  I am hoping that someone out there can help me resolve this issue ~  I  have tons of downloading of documents that I do daily.

Hi,

I’d suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Reader to fix the issue.

Problems uninstalling Adobe Reader

Reinstall the program in administrator mode. Follow these steps:

a.     Locate the program icon, right-click and select as “Run as administrator”.

b.     When the User Account Control (UAC) message is displayed, do one of the following:

  • If you are logged on as a standard user, or if UAC is configured to always require credentials, enter the appropriate administrative credentials, and then click OK.
  • If you are logged on as an administrator and UAC is not configured to always require credentials, click “Yes” to start the application.

c.     Proceed with the installation.
