    Hi,

Have you made any changes to the computer prior to this issue?

I would suggest you to try the following threads and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try to re register ‘MSWINSCN.OCX’ and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to reregister the ‘MSWINSCN.OCX’:

    a.       Click Start, type “command” in the start search box.

    b.      From the program list right click cmd.exe, and click on Run as administrator.

    c.       Type “regsvr32.exe mswinsck.ocx” Without quotes and hit Enter.

The normal location of file is C:\Windows\System32.

    Method 2:

Run System File Checker Tool scan and check if it helps.

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

When I try method one, I type in this "regsvr32.exe mswinsck.ocx” without the quotes, and the space between the two names. This is the error I get. "The Module "mswinsck.ocx" failed to load. make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found."

    This is windows 10.

There are so many things wrong with this topic starting with the advice from the Micrsoft engaged Support Engineer alleged "expert".

First of all mswinsck.ocx is not even included on the Windows 7 (or Windows XP) installation CD so it will not be in the system32 folder.

Second of all even if you had the file, it is not a registerable file to the regsvr32 command will fail:

And since it is not part of a Windows installation there is no way running sfc /scannow will help.

Suggesting sfc /scannow is akin to saying "I have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it".

To save time in the future, avoid all replies that begin with the words "Hi" or "Hello", contain Methods or Steps, contain suggestions that begin with the word "try" and end with "check if it helps".
