Compaq Presario V6500 laptop - had Win XP SP2 on it. Did a Complete install not meaning to save anything old...but, no SysWOW64 folder was created. Oddly, there is a Windows.old folder still remaining? How do I get the sysWOW64 folder created with the right DLLs, etc.?

Open the start menu, right-click "Computer" and choose "Properties" from the menu that appears. Please verify on this screen that you actually did install the 64-bit version.

Evidently, I selected the 32-bit when I installed the OS.  I re-installed and everything is cool.  Thanks for the answer.

I had already completed that when I noticed that file extensions were missing and some obvious folders were not being displayed.  Thanks for the reply!
